A couple of weeks ago, President Obama set Twitter on fire after sporting a tan suit to a press conference. People were outraged. It was, the President of the United States, after all. And POTUS doesn't wear tan suits, right?
In fact, it's downright disrespectful for the President to wear a tan suit, agreed? Particularly when talking about foreign policy. According to Peter King of New York, it just illustrates that the President doesn't give a shit about his job.
Well, not so fast buddy. First of all, this:
So yeah, there's you in a tan suit, on the way to your job. Apparently not giving a shit.
But also, what about this:
Or this:
Or this:
Or even, this:
I guess the point is, Presidents have and definitely do wear tan suits. And that doesn't mean they don't care. But what a tan suit does mean is that it's summer. And the summer is a perfectly acceptable time to wear tan suits.
So, back off the Prez. Let him experiment. In fact, encourage it. After all, he did once tell Michael Lewis, 'I got rid of all the clothes I have except for gray suits and blue suits, so I don't even have to think about what I put on.' And that's just plain sad.
So, though Twitter might think otherwise, we think that President Obama's suit, though not our favorite, is not so unsuitable.
